I was watching Donald Trump and Gene from Kiss in the boardroom for the Kodak task.

Gene explaining why Kodak missed Gene’s concept and Donald Trump out of smart remarks looked for help and looked straight in the eyes of Carol Alt : a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit babe.

Now I wonder what happened with Donald trump in those split seconds to come… Was he chocking on something?

All Donald could utter was something like: I like to listen to your opinions Carol and I like to look at you as well…

Ok, so the debate was:

Gene: … Kodak doesn’t understand my concept
Donald: …Carol and I like to look at you as well

Where did I see this kind of amazing behavior before…

Ok, here we have a way to make you rich with pets, and you don’t even have to bark nor growl.

All you have to do is advertise yourself for free, which means that you have to do what you love the most: showing off your love for pets.

Because when people notice you love pets, they will trust their pets in your hands.

Petsitters without pets

One of linky love’s first ways of earning money was pet-sitting. Quite easy: my mom put my ad in the newspaper (I was able to read and write though, although at about 8, you don’t know that well "who you gonna call" when you need an ad placed in the newspaper).

If you go on holiday, leave your pet with my daughter, since she loves pets.

Of course mom didn’t mention that I also loved to travel during holidays, but since my parents told me: you can travel as much as you want when you pay for it… well, I thought of spending my holidays earning some extra money

So the easy part was my love for dogs, the difficult part at that time was finding pet owners to find me.

Or in other words, the difficult part was: getting noticed with my services?

Meet Alex, the dog from the Atomic Blogging author Alvin Phang.

Unlike Alvin, his dog looks a bit skinny, which is quite the opposite when I look at myself and my cat. My cat is fat and myself, well, I do need some exercise…

But we were taking about how dogs make money…

Quite easy:

they give you something you want and
in return you give them food and shelter (and a haircut Alvin would add).

So to be as successful as a dog, you just need to copy their business plan:

give people what they want and
in return they give you money

We were kind of ‘chit-chatting-lol-catting‘ at Daddy P’s (who is a real artist by the way, not a flight by night ‘drawer’ like me…) looking for brilliant ideas for new niche websites. Add to that the ads that are showing these days, and my thinking cap was on full force…

It came to my attention: in order to be totally unique: why not illustrate your website yourself? Quite a challenge when you have no drawing skills like me, but when there is room for improvement, you can always count me in

In order to put the thinking to the test: I started to draw this puppy from scratch, and even without telling you it’s a puppy, you will have noticed it kind of looks like a dog

So here are the step by step instructions and be warned: you need zero drawing skills in advance, I just used my Stylo Bic…

Step by step in the drawing above (Vincent Van Gogh also started sketching to buy food, maybe I found my new niche career… )

draw a snowman (a simple 2 balls please) and scratch a line underneath
draw a small banana and underneath a hook pointing to the left and a hook pointing to the right
puppies have big eyes: 2 ‘U’s upside down and dots pointing to the directing you want your puppy to look at
another long ‘U’ and there you go: a puppy with his tongue sticking out
then 2 handles, one left and one right (I am told that are supposed to be the dogs ears…)
top paws: 2 circles with 3 vertical lines inside
bottom paws: kind of the McDonalds logo again with 3 stripes in each paw
add a tail on the puppy (the bigger the better I find)
