1 How to overcome writers block

My most simple solution to get my brain back on track is to take a big rest. I retreat in my favorite cozy place and well, 9 hours later my writers block is history.

What do you do if you don’t have anything decent to say in real life? You simply keep quiet, unless your name is Omarosa and all you can utter is trash-talk. In that case I assume writers block wont be an issue for you…

7 Ask or Answer Questions

This is my human’s favorite method to start a conversation: if she doesn’t know something, she will ask.

Same idea you can use in your blog in 2 ways!

1. Just ask people what they would have loved to see on the post you are trying to write having writers block. Of course you don’t tell them you are having writers block .
2. The opposite also works: answer questions other bloggers are asking in their blog. But don’t answer it in a comment on their blog, answer it in a post on your blog. Then use "trackback" to automatically comment on the question of the other blogger.

Answering a question is exactly what I am doing now. I am answering Kevin’s question What do you do when you get Bloggers-Block?.

Petsitters without pets

One of linky love’s first ways of earning money was pet-sitting. Quite easy: my mom put my ad in the newspaper (I was able to read and write though, although at about 8, you don’t know that well "who you gonna call" when you need an ad placed in the newspaper).

If you go on holiday, leave your pet with my daughter, since she loves pets.

Of course mom didn’t mention that I also loved to travel during holidays, but since my parents told me: you can travel as much as you want when you pay for it… well, I thought of spending my holidays earning some extra money

So the easy part was my love for dogs, the difficult part at that time was finding pet owners to find me.

Or in other words, the difficult part was: getting noticed with my services?

The Atomic Blogging dog

Meet Alex, the dog from the Atomic Blogging author Alvin Phang.

Unlike Alvin, his dog looks a bit skinny, which is quite the opposite when I look at myself and my cat. My cat is fat and myself, well, I do need some exercise…

But we were taking about how dogs make money…

Quite easy:

• they give you something you want and
• in return you give them food and shelter (and a haircut Alvin would add).

So to be as successful as a dog, you just need to copy their business plan:

• give people what they want and
• in return they give you money

Do you speak like a dog?

• do you bark like a dog and scare your customers away
• do you wag your tail so people fall in love with you at first sight

Keep the above example in mind next time you try to sell something…

Dogs don’t speak our human language, but they are doing something right in order to attract people’s attention.

The cute orange tabby cat "Orange Boy" over at the Save Moki cat-blog has been bitten by a rattle snake as well, and it doesn’t look that cute, although Orange Boy is hanging in according to their last post.

I got to know Orange Boy when his owner left a comment on our Free Tabby Kittens blog.

You can feature your tabby kittens for free like we featured Orange Boy at Free Orange Tabby Kittens just by leaving a comment.

Or was it Moki the cat that left a comment… on the Internet you never know who is doing the typing….

What’s interesting is that the Moki cat owner started to blog for money 2 days ago aiming to get at least $100 during the next month using "one of those pay to blog services that could kill your PageRank".

If they don’t reach their aim, they will call it quits and most likely try to find other ways to make money on or off the Internet.
