Wellsy’s World is only 4 months old and just had his 10.000 visitor. Not bad for a new blog, is it?

So I can hear you say: yeah right, if content is king, then what about SEO, tags, Twitters and anything else you can learn from ebooks like Atomic Blogging?

Well the logic goes as follows:

• Atomic Blogging without decent content is like a Ferrari without fuel
   
• decent content with Atomic Blogging is like a Ferrari with rocket fuel

Whatever you do or buy, it all boils down to making sure you have decent content on your blog.

It helps when you are blogging:

• each and every day
   
• about the latest news or
   
• about anything that can’t be found better explained anywhere else

The latter is where your expertise and target audience becomes important: you will attract those visitors that understand and need what you are saying.

For instance: there are 1001 sites that explain about SEO, but

• do you talk about some basic SEO to get your content ranked
   
• or do you talk about the latest tips and tricks that will work today and get outdated next month

Both are equally interesting, but wil attract a complete different kind of visitors. So you need to be or:

• consistent, so you keep your visitors from coming back or
   
• complete but stating up front:
   
• this post is for this kind of reader
   
• that post is for that kind of reader.

Again, content is king, but you need to make sure for yourself who you want or can be the king of. Meaning: don’t try to attract "everybody" but attract those who are eager to get your part of the story.

But how does that work?

If the concept is still not too clear for you, then switch on your TV and zap from one channel to the other. TV typically has target audiences.

Zap to the channel:

• you have expertise in and
   
• you feel like you would be the one making the stories.

$200 is a nice monthly extra income for blogging about the things I really love: pets, making money online, some mindfree sexy gossip and SEO.

If you analyse my Month 6: $ 713.18 earnings, you know where I earn my big money It’s easier to walk a flat surface than to climb a steep slope when it comes to earning money. What that means for you, you have to fill in yourself. For me that means making money online like I make money offline: teaching French.

It all boils down to:

how much do you want to earn
how much do you want to write about something you really love
how much time do you want to invest

Time is money, and I recommend you buy time purchasing 2 ebooks that have proven to work. Don’t buy 20 ebooks, because that’s just confirming yourself that the first 19 were not that good to start with.

I recommend Atomic Blogging for people:

who want to start a new blog
who have been blogging a while but don’t have much quality visitors

I recommend Easy SEO using Squidoo for people:

Did you know you can rank 1 in Google in 10 minutes for 10 cents?

Of course with only 10 cents you won’t be able to do this for "Make Money Online" but you will be able to do it for 3.20$.

And you will be able to rank number 1 for "the best way to make money online" for less than 10 cents per click.

How much money to invest in PPC

The rule of thumb is:

Profit of your product / 100 = maximum PPC price you are willing to pay

So if you are selling eggs with a profit margin of $3, you can only advert for 3 cents and break even. And you better know how to write the perfect Adwords Ad.

But if you are selling a French Course that you wrote yourself with a profit margin of 100$, then you can stir things up with a PPC campaign of 1 dollar and break even.

Needless to say you can run a pretty lucrative PPC for 50cents per click and make $50 for each book you sell.

Also needless to say: if you don’t have your own product, you need to share your profit with somebody else you are promoting, therefore look for somebody that gives you a big share.

Adwords summarized

If you have something that makes big profit, PPC will skyrocket you to number 1 in Google in 10 minutes.

If you have something that makes small profit, you need to do as usual: find your niche and earn money there.

If you have nothing to offer, then using PPC will cost you money, but if you want to rank number one and money is not an issue, then by all means beat all the "Yellow Background" SEO optimized websites.

The Carpenters found a niche in the 70s when louder and faster-paced rock was in great demand. Reason why we know them is because their soft musical niche music that made them one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

But all that couldn’t prevent Karen of The Carpenters to die of anorexia nervosa at the age of only 32. Money can’t buy everything!

How much money did carpenter Joseph from the Bible make?

Joseph, the man that helped virgin marry to fled to Egypt so they were able to bring up Jesus…

It’s not stated how much money carpenters made during those days, but for all I learned from the bible:

• have your business where there is lot’s of traffic (traders in the synagogue)
• you can always double your money if you let it work. Just know that twice 3 is only 6 where twice 5 is already 10… the more money you have, the easier it gets
• you don’t have to do a lot to become famous:just make sure you get seen around another famous person (who would have ever known there was a carpenter named Joseph when there wouldn’t have been Jesus

So don’t look at a persons’ pay check, but learn how they got the paycheck!

1. I am not a salesperson, so I am not that good in negotiating prices for advertising, nor am I good in selling stuff online
2. I am not an IT person, so my money making skills are less compared to let’s say John Chow "who was born in a computer"
3. I am resourceful and finding better tools, resulting in new websites like Adopt a Puppy for Free : 20 days young and already making more money than Gwen Stefani Clothes make in 1 month…

Read what I said about how carpenters can earn more money and then see for yourself where you stand:

1. if carpenters have the skills to negotiate a better price, they can earn more
2. if they have finer carpenter skills, they can earn more
3. if carpenters have better tools, they can earn more

One tool I bought is the complete Step-by-Step Guide on creating Profitable Blogs. From that I mainly use the "Find yourself a new niche website tool". This makes that I am starting to make more money on the Internet outside of the Linky Love blog.

Selling adspace is not my forte either, so as you can see now:

• you can just buy adspace in 1 second here : text-link-ads for only 10$ and exposure for half a year!
• buy adspace in 1 minute here : it gives you statistics about my visitors, so saves me the sales person talk : just look at the bare facts and decide for yourself

If you are blogging for money yourself: then evaluate where you stand.

• if you are good in selling stuff, then by all means make more efforts there.

• if you are like me: not an IT person nor a salesperson, then get yourself some good tools in order to blog better

Like I said last month: on average we are making $300 a month. With the amount of effort I put in this blog compared to other blogs (Adopt a Puppy for Free), I should be making my target of $1000 a month already long time ago.

We have to face it: earning $3000 a year is great when you talk about pocket money in the west.

It’s even better when you talk about living in the east. It buys me 3 airplane tickets from east to west, which is great for sitting on my butt and writing about the things I love

Main thing is you do what you love, and if what you love is wood and "carpenting", then by all means become a carpenter, no matter how much money it does or doesn’t make…

It’s earnings that counts

After 9 months of Linky Love, we still don’t rank number 1 for Make Money Online, for the same reason John Chow isn’t ranking number one either: just because Google doesn’t like what we are doing.

Anyway, after 9 months of trying and having been on the first SERP when John Chow was ranking number 1, I quit the game that nobody knew about. If you know Sally Chow, you know that there are much more important things in life than beating people with similar names…

Nevertheless I love John Chow (not like his wife loves him of course…) as I equally love the evil John Chow .

His blog most likely makes about 100 times more money than mine and his Review Me price is 7.5 times more than mine.

Does adding your link make you money?

Does adding a secretary make you money? Well, if she just sits there being sexy, hell no she won’t bring you any extra money!

But if your secretary is efficient and works hard,
sure having her around will pay off big time!

Same with adding your link to our Add URL toplist. It can sit there being sexy without helping you much. But if you let it work for you, then it will pay off!

How much money Linky Love makes on the Internet

The average over our first 9 months is about 300$ a day. That’s cute if you make less but that’s quite little if you need to support yourself, let alone your family.

So is Linky Love THE place to be to learn about making money online? Well: if you want to be a full time blogger, you need more advice than Linky Love is giving you by example.

French Swear Words is a money making machine

Where I am making my money on the Internet these days is at French Swear Words. If you have a look at my $713 month 6 earnings you see that:

I spent $47 and bought the Super Affiliate Handbook from Rosalind Gardner. In her book she teaches you how to pick the best affiliate programs!

I applied the Super Affiliate Handbook techniques and earned the first month about $300 dollars selling French courses. Invest less than $50 and make 300$…

The next month my income doubled, where Linky Love’s earnings without affiliate income were stagnating…

So the problem I have now is: yes I know how to make money online, but I cannot show it with Linky Love as an example.

You could say: why don’t I sell more affiliate stuff here? Because you can read in the Super Affiliate Handbook that once you find a winner, stick to it, don’t waste time looking for another winner if yo are happy with what you earn. And I am very happy

How to improve contextual advertisement earnings?

1. make sure that a user clicks on an advertising link, not any link
   TODO: get rid of all these links on the frontpage that are not earning any money
2. make sure that your contextual ads are having a nice payout
   TODO: heoretically use Google Adwords and see which ads pay well, then attract those ads on your website.
   Practically: don’t ramble around like I do about Charlène Vanneste if you write a blog about how to make money online. A French subject like Charlène Vanneste should go on my French blog...
   If you ramble about anything and everything, you could end up with a high visitors count, yet a very low payment of the advertising you are showing.
   Stick to 1 topic where the ads are well paid and you have lot’s of things to say about.
3. attract more visitors
   TODO: source new visitors with new SEO ideas, marketing ideas, communities… don’t just do what you are doing now
   (quite vague, best thing is to go and read other blogs and get new, fresh ideas! : step out of your comfortzone!)

How to improve writing reviews for money?

You need to improve your blog according to the guidelines given by any of the paid to blog services.

• Personally I am very disappointed with PayPerPost having a RealRank 1 didn’t give me any big opportunity.
• Blogsvertise and Smorty still rely on PageRank, which for a blog with a high amount of visitors like mine, I love ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews.

Yet, last month there was no money coming in from any of these blogging for money services, so :

Again: go to other sites and see what they are doing when it comes to making money online.

By now you must be familiar with the 125×125 image sponsorships like the one on the right : where to find the best smoothies: click on the smoothie image!

2. Text Link Ads

We do have Google approved Text Link Ads that doesn’t bring anybodies PageRank down. To make more money with it:

Affiliate Marketing works fine on my French Swear Words blog, selling the best online French course out there!

At Linky Love affiliate marketing is not taking off yet, so:
