Before I reveal the secret on how to make money online after 1 year of blogging: look at the 2 pictures below. Both pictures show a huge crowd, but which of the people are really buying?
This is a no brainer: the bums on the beach are just using up space. Maybe they have spent lots of money on:
- traveling to the beach,
- staying in the hotels nearby, but
once they are on the beach : hardly any money is spent…
except for some people buying an icecream
Now the second picture: the only reason why the people are in this hawkers street filled with food is to spend their money on buying food!

Our Linky Love is a typical "beach website": lots of people drop by and if I am lucky, they “buy my icecream”…
If your business plan is based on "if I am lucky", you might as well buy a ticket on the lottery…

You see there is no confusion, no getting distracted by anything:
- just making sure you buy their 2 great products,
- just like any restaurant tries to serve you a great meal at dinner.
So how to make money with only 10 visitors daily?
You make sure that you only attract 10 buyers.
Let’s stick with restaurants again (yes, you are not the only one Alvin who comes from a coffee shop background just to make it big outside the coffee shop).
Really it’s no use that 10.000 visitors go in your restaurant, just to browse over the menu and walk out again.
You rather have 3 bookings of 10 people all in all and set your price high enough for the 10 visitors:
- to be able to pay your price
- to get a meal that’s really worth the money you ask for.
Now the real secret of making money online you just read above and most likely you didn’t even notice it:

BOOKINGS is the key word: don’t wait until you get somebody stumbling by, but
make sure the ones stepping through your door
are going to leave paying.

How to make money on the Internet with quality visitors
1. You need something to sell:
- that is on topic with your site
- that you believe in yourself
- that is in a niche

2. You need buyers:
You need to attract people that once they get on your website, they buy, just like when somebody steps into a restaurant, you make sure she or he gets seated, gets a good view on the menu or gets already a free taster.
Ok, my father can teach you everything to get money out of selling food, but when it comes to attracting quality visitors to your website, Kelly can teach you everything to attract visitors that will buy on your website.
Don’t put your eggs in 1 basket
As usual, I recommend you don’t limit yourself to one strategy. But make also sure you don’t drown in “all the strategies” you read on the Internet. Mostly they are just variations on the same subject anyway.
Don’t use more than 7 eggs, and Linky Love is at this moment using 4:

Let Squidoo do the SEO for you for free
For an SEO expert like me the above picture translates into:
people without my SEO knowledge but using Squidoo could beat me in my own game.
Why?
Because they can jump the bandwagon of a big site called Squidoo known by the search engines for their good content.
And in the end content will always rule.
So how does Squidoo work exactly?
Squidoo’s motto is: Everybody is an expert in something!
Or said differently: if you only have one eye, you will still be the expert in the land of the blind.
So whatever you are an expert in, you can write about it and put it on the Squidoo website for free. In short: you post your own content and add it to the Squidoo library of good content articles.
Did I stress good content? Yes I did. If you know something that is useful for others that don’t know what you know, then you have good content.
Now for the interesting Squidoo part
- Even without a website, you can rank high in the search engines with your Squidoo
- Squidoo allows you to promote products (from your own or affiliate products)
Yes, Squidoo gives you an extra advantage of any other free platform like:
- blogger: it’s free but you have no extra benefit to rank high fast using them. With Squidoo you are immediately on Google’s radar because Google knows Squidoo is all about good content and expertise.
- article directories: they put you as fast on the Google radar as Squidoo but they do not allow you to promote affiliate products
But what if I don’t know any good affiliate product to promote and I am completely new on Squidoo? Well, you need to find an affiliate product that you would buy yourself.
If you don’t like it, then don’t insult your visitors with it.
If you are in the make money online business, there are 2 products I recommend my visitors:
- Atomic Blogging which teaches from scratch how to make money with a WordPress blog. This is good for complete newbies to bloggers that know about blogging but need extra help in monetizing and attracting more visitors.
Squidoo Queen which teaches how you can make money by writing about what you know better than others. So far I need to try out what she wrote in her ebook, but for what I read so far I see that :- Kelly is knowledgeable about my field of expertise SEO and Niches and

How do you make an affiliate sale?
Before you say "dough: when I get the money", …
have a look at the picture below:

- Your Blog
- The sales page of your affiliate
- The actual product
What is in your control
You are only in control of what is on your blog. As simple as that.
What do you need to do?
Suppose you were selling eggs on the market, then all you have to do is shout to the buyers that walk buy and you make the sale.
Now in affiliate marketing always remember that the sales-page makes the sale!
Look at the picture above: all you can do is:
getting visitors to your website and
lead them to the sales-pages.
The importance of the sales page
Yes, you get the picture: your earnings stand or drop at the power of the sales page.
A good sales page sells!
A bad page is just wasting your visitors and your time, money and effort.
How do you know if a sales page sells?
You find out the hard way with trial and error if you are using ClickBank
or you use the new affiliate market place click2sell and use their free reports!
The number you need to focus on is Conversion%: the higher the better.
If you browse through the market place look at the Conv%:
12.26% means that:
for every 100 visitors that arrive on that sales-page, 12 do buy!
Just know that in affiliate marketing :
any conversion rate above 1% is ok,
any conversion above 10% is a goldmine!
Don’t be fooled by numbers
Numbers are just that, numbers. They help you making a better decision in choosing your affiliate.
But: the 12,26conv.% product above is about Goalkeepers… So if your site is about chocolate, most likely you won’t be attracting the crowd that’s interested in goalkeepers.
To say it differently: if you sell shoes, attract people that want shoes.
So reverse logic: if you blog about shoes or fashion in general, look for a shoe affiliate and only then look at the conversion% of their sales-page.
Because: the best sales-page online becomes the best salesperson translated in offline terminology.
Clickbank Formula : Don’t be fooled by numbers
Yes I repeat! Always evaluate the numbers.
Because 12.26 conversion% is 12 times higher than a normal "good" affiliate conversion. So what’s happening here?
The click2sell affiliate market place is new. So maybe the first days there were so little products that everybody started promoting that product.
The 12.26 Conversion % from the above picture was seen at Alvin’s blog April 22. The next day when I had a look in my first ClickBank Formula post, it was at 8.40% and today, well… why don’t you have a look yourself
