Another way of monetizing your (new) blog is the UrbanRead news widget like you see in my right sidebar. If you click the news link, you will go to the UrbanRead page where you have your Adsense banner running!
So basically: you can earn money with Adsense from people that go to UrbanRead following a link in your site. In return you get:
the UrbanRead news widget
a referral fee for new UrbanRead sign ups
When you signup like I just did the steps are as easy as this:
have your Adsense pub and channel code ready
have an avatar ready
signup and receive a login email
get the widget code
choose the size (if you click on the size previews, be sure to click the back button of your browser afterwards to return to the "get the code" page) Make sure to choose a widget with referral code. Read the details of the referral program at urbanread-referral.
copy/paste the HTML code and you are done
I will of course give an update how much urbanread-referral is making me on top of my other earnings.
