By the way, Jazmin is quite a cute cat, I know, since I am a cute cat myself. And be aware never ever to say cat to a Siamese in the first place. I can of course, because I am a Siamese Persian mix: 2 cats for the price of one.

It took him about a day to be online like before, where using my affordable web hosting I am online again cleaned from all malicious software in less than an hour.

But Alvin’s question is: Wordpress 2.5.1 Should You Upgrade?

To answer this question: look at the picture below and give your honest first impression:

Even without knowing what the whole idea is all about, you spot that "stuff for sale here" is quite odd compared with all the seemingly sophisticated other concepts.

A similar approach is needed when you make money online. You need to ask youself:

are your components and efforts in sinc or
is there a noticeable weakest link that should be upgraded/improved upon?

If you hardly have any visitors, then chance is small hackers will be interested in your site, so which version of Wordpress you are using shouldn’t be your biggest concern. Even if you get hacked and your site goes down, you won’t notice it when your earnings are little anyway.

But when you have a well visited site like Alvin’s, you should consider to change your webhost from the cheapest of the cheapest Hostgator to any affordable web hosting. Why?

• because a decent webhost won’t shut your site down once your traffic spikes (Hostgator will because they oversell what they have: bandwidth needs to be paid!!!)
• a decent webhost cannot afford that their client is down for the whole day, so they will work with you to make sure you and they are happy and your site will be online ASAP.

So if you are serious about making money online, check out if your tools are in sinc:

• your webhost : mine is always in sinc because that’s the deal me and my web host agreed upon: If I get more visitors using more bandwidth means I opt for a bigger package quick and easy.
• your computer
• your Internet connection
• your knowledge (if you don’t know how to monetize a blog, then don’t spend money on anything else but knowledge first!)
• your efforts
• your software tools (and only now we consider Alvin’s question: WP2.3 or 2.5.1?)

Make sure yourself, your tools and your partners are in sinc when you are serious in making money online! Things that are below standards of the rest, need to be upgraded first!

This is a no brainer: the bums on the beach are just using up space. Maybe they have spent lots of money on:

You make sure that you only attract 10 buyers.

Let’s stick with restaurants again (yes, you are not the only one Alvin who comes from a coffee shop background just to make it big outside the coffee shop).

Really it’s no use that 10.000 visitors go in your restaurant, just to browse over the menu and walk out again.

You rather have 3 bookings of 10 people all in all and set your price high enough for the 10 visitors:

• to be able to pay your price
• to get a meal that’s really worth the money you ask for.

Now the real secret of making money online you just read above and most likely you didn’t even notice it:

BOOKINGS is the key word: don’t wait until you get somebody stumbling by, but

make sure the ones stepping through your door
are going to leave paying.

How to make money on the Internet with quality visitors

1. You need something to sell:

• that is on topic with your site
• that you believe in yourself
• that is in a niche

You can find lot’s of things to sell in our 2 "Clickbank formula improved" tutorials.

You can find a niche using Alvin’s keyword research tool that comes when you buy his Atomic Blogging package.

2. You need buyers:

You need to attract people that once they get on your website, they buy, just like when somebody steps into a restaurant, you make sure she or he gets seated, gets a good view on the menu or gets already a free taster.

Ok, my father can teach you everything to get money out of selling food, but when it comes to attracting quality visitors to your website, Kelly can teach you everything to attract visitors that will buy on your website.

Don’t put your eggs in 1 basket

As usual, I recommend you don’t limit yourself to one strategy. But make also sure you don’t drown in “all the strategies” you read on the Internet. Mostly they are just variations on the same subject anyway.

Don’t use more than 7 eggs, and Linky Love is at this moment using 4:

1. attracting a crowd using the techniques from Alvin’s Atomic Blogging package and
2. monetizing this "beach crowd" with "icecream" in the form of advertisement

During our first part of our tutorial, we told you to set your link-price to a value you really think your links are worth.

If you set a "greedy" price like I did the first time, you will get an email from Linkworth
saying that they "disapprove your site":

We are sorry, but we were unable to approve your website…

No need to panic, at the bottom of the same email they will tell you why.

The most common reason is:

Price is too high.

So now you wonder: so which price is not too high?

How much is your blog worth

High and low is very subjective: according to the blog value tool below my blog is worth a whopping $168,232.92.

Great… but as long as nobody buys my blog for that price, I am not earning a 6 figure income yet.

Use the LinkQuote tool to get an idea

Linkworth has a tool that will give you an indication how high or low you should set the price for your links. Before we show you how it works, I tell you my strategy:

1. I set the price I would be happy with to get
2. Normally my price is way too high so I have a look at the LinkQuote tool
3. If the LinkQuote price is higher than my price, I sit and wait
   If the LinkQuote price is lower than my price, I lower my price a bit, sit and wait. I repeat this exercise every so many days until people start paying my price.
   (of course don’t tell anybody how many days, weeks, months or years you wait until you lower your price…

You login to Linkworth (I assume by now you already signed up, if not, then do it now) and go to TOOLS

In my tools, look for the linkquote tab and click it:

You will then see the "linkqoute tool" where you type in your website, for me that is www.linkylove.net

Press "get Quote" to see your recommended link prices.

My Recommended link prices are as follows:

… So the maximum price I should ask for a link is $25. If you are happy with that, than that’s the price you use when you set your price.

I wasn’t happy with 25, so I have set my price higher and sit and wait. Why? Because always have other eggs in your basket and don’t lower your price to something you are not at all happy with.

On the other hand be realistic: if you aren’t making money anywhere, lowering your price to $15 would be a good option in the above example.

Remember:

• if you opted a 50/50 split with Linkworth and
• you set your price at 25 $,
• you will only get 50/50 meaning 12.50 $.

LinkQuote tool secret

The real value of this tool is that it tells you the secret of how Linkworth calculates it’s prices. Below their recommended prices they will show you the following (again example of www.linkylove.net)

There you are: they don’t care that much about your real visitors traffic (Alexa rankings are US based). So if you are not ranking high in our TOPLIST, then don’t feel sad.

It took me about a year to find out that "more visitors" equals "more money" is only 16% of Linkworth’s entire truth.

For my regular visitors wondering why I am no more frantically working my butt off to rank first in our TOPLIST:

• it’s quite cold on top and
• there is more money to earn at lower altitudes

Tools

Tools are only useful if they tell you how they work and if they are applied well.

Pagerank is a tool to rank pages in Google, so it should not be used by advertisers. Why is nobody listening I don’t know, don’t cry when your pagerank is zero because you loved to sell pagerank links…

That’s why I love to sell my $10 Google approved links.

The tool that says my blog is worth $168,232.92 is of no use as I have no clue what they are measuring (maybe they just count the amount of words )

Text Link Ads is another service selling links and they were the first to have a Link Value calculator, yet it has been down for more than a month though.

The advantage of Text Link Ads is that you don’t have to set a price.

The disadvantages are that Text Link Ads:

• is much more picky than Linkworth when it comes to approving sites
• only sells links, where Linkworth has much more on offer on their side to make money on your site
• their link value calculator is not working for a way too long time

Linkworth “Set your Link Price” conclusion

• set the price to a value you are comfortable with
• set your prices similar on different services: advertisers do shop around as well and will most likely buy your lowest price available
• if you feel you are not selling enough, lower your price
• if you feel you are sold out on the spot: higher your price
• if you still have no idea, use the Linkworth linkquote calculator as an indication only

LinkPosts are "posts with a link" : posts you write following some guidelines (how many words, what link you need to add) and you get paid for it.

Again the same logic: set your price and go and check every hour if you have an offer.

Yes, you read that right: only if you check your website, you know there is something available for you. Because I had an email telling me I had a LinkMura, only then I saw I got 2 LinkPosts…

That’s why I prefer "LinkPosts" from Smorty, because they send me an email every time there is something for me to write about.

Yes, go for services that do the work for you, as you already have to work hard enough to get some extra income online

But again, if you want 1 website that has all the services that are scattered online, stick with LinkWorth. It’s still far better than trying to grab a post at PayPerPost having your second computer updating the screen every 15 seconds…

Linkmura

Is what I got offered in my email today.

It looks like LinkAds but each time you refresh your page, a new anchor text with new URL get’s displayed.

Installing the code is not straight forward (that’s why I can’t show you an example on my site yet), but LinkWorth has a good
customer service, you ask and I will tell you how fast they will answer this time (normally in 24 hours).

Linkintxt

This is exactly what it says: you get paid for a link in the text of your blog.

Again the same logic: you set your minimum price and LinkWorth "does the rest".

Once you approve a Linkintxt some word somewhere in your blog (you will know exactly where) will suddenly show a link to the advertiser that bought your word.

Personally this is my favorite as you can write your blog about all the things you prefer to write about and advertisers just buy words that are already on your site.

Linkwords

LinkWords is LinkWorth’s version of Kontera.

If you add this feature than automatically some words in your blog will be underlined twice like the words "advertising" and "money" in the picture below.

Once a visitor places his mouse over these words, a little ad pops up like in the picture below.

Only when people click inside that ad, you will be paid.

Looks fancy but I am not using it. Why not? Well, 2 reasons:

• I use the Kontera version because I found them first, otherwise I would be using the LinkWorth LinkWords version
• because I prefer Linkintxt:

it’s much more fun to be paid per month than per click

Linksura

This is the old LinkWorth
version of LinkMura: the anchor text could rotate but was always pointing to the same URL. Interesting for advertisers, for yourself as a blogger it’s a similar concept as LinkAds and LinkMura explained above

LinkBB

Also called LinkWorth’s
"BillBoard link ads" and again my favorite as a lazy way to earn money.

Basically an advertiser writes an article and pays you to put it on your site.

Same logic: set your price and sit and wait.

Very practical for static websites if you ever looked for an easy way to get more money out of a non-blog

Linkpack

This is how LinkWorth sells links on all your blogs as a 1 package deals.

Although it’s again a lazy strategy, I have never used it before. But that’s because I am too lazy to try it out…

The idea is that 1 advertiser would put his links on all my blogs. Meaning he would put links on blogs that are off topic, and most likely he won’t pay too much for that.

On the other hand: he will get a quick fix for his money, and the time he gains he should pay extra for it…

In other words: whoever is using it, please leave a comment. Note to myself: try and see

LinkWorth takes 30% or 50% : you choose!

LinkWorth is proud to tell you that unlike other services, they will only take a 30% cut of your set price if you opt for their "basic account".

Yeah right. Sounds great… but I did that for a few months and didn’t get any offer…

Only when I changed my account in giving LinkWorth 50% of my set price, LinkWorth started looking for advertisers for me.

Be logical: why would they give ads to people that only give them 30% when there are equally interesting bloggers that give them 50%. Now you know why they call it a Preferred Partner Account - Commission Split (50/50)

Once you overcome your pride and just do what is done with most other services: a 50/50 split, you will be earning money with LinkWorth.

Conclusion

Ok, this LinkWorth post became a bit longer than I thought, but that’s only because:

they do have a lot of money making possibilities for you to make money with.

I web googled for Tante Girang and Web Google served me the above Not Save For the Office pictures. Especially the picture in the middle is way too hot for comfort.

So I thought: is my browser setting wrong? Not really, as Tante Girang gives you steamy pictures even if your browser is on Moderate Safe Search.

This means if your children are surfing for seemingly safe words , they get served a decent amount of porn.

Who is Tante Girang

Well, bloggers that want to have a quick spike of visitors will have noticed that people are having a high interest today in this keyword phrase.

Tante is just standard Dutch for auntie but used in Indonesia, Tante Girang ends up to be a "happy auntie" : a middle aged woman with an overly excessive sex drive lusting for young toy boys.

Now if this is considered moderate safe for Google, I was wondering where do they draw the line when it comes to not showing porn on websites using Google’s contextual advertising better known as Adsense?

I don’t see the logic when it comes to tante girang compared to other other Indonesian sexy keywords like ‘memek’, ‘tetek pramugari’ and ‘gadis melayu’. The first 2 don’t show any pictures as one should expect with a web search.

‘Gadis melayu’ does show pictures in the web search but they are all decent.

All 3 above keyword phrases show decent pictures in the image section using Moderate Safe Search.

So since this doesn’t make sense compared to tante girang, most likely Google is still unaware of the true meaning of this kind of tante… Let’s see how long it takes until they correct this, knowing Google they tend to be very fast as that’s what makes their search engine so good.

Meanwhile: if you do put in the advanced image search your preference to "Use strict filtering", the search will show only text in stead of showing in your face a picture of a tante girang playing with the toy of a boy…

Petsitters without pets

One of linky love’s first ways of earning money was pet-sitting. Quite easy: my mom put my ad in the newspaper (I was able to read and write though, although at about 8, you don’t know that well "who you gonna call" when you need an ad placed in the newspaper).

If you go on holiday, leave your pet with my daughter, since she loves pets.

Of course mom didn’t mention that I also loved to travel during holidays, but since my parents told me: you can travel as much as you want when you pay for it… well, I thought of spending my holidays earning some extra money

So the easy part was my love for dogs, the difficult part at that time was finding pet owners to find me.

Or in other words, the difficult part was: getting noticed with my services?

For an SEO expert like me the above picture translates into:

people without my SEO knowledge but using Squidoo could beat me in my own game.

Why?

Because they can jump the bandwagon of a big site called Squidoo known by the search engines for their good content.

And in the end content will always rule.

So how does Squidoo work exactly?

Squidoo’s motto is: Everybody is an expert in something!

Or said differently: if you only have one eye, you will still be the expert in the land of the blind.

So whatever you are an expert in, you can write about it and put it on the Squidoo website for free. In short: you post your own content and add it to the Squidoo library of good content articles.

Did I stress good content? Yes I did. If you know something that is useful for others that don’t know what you know, then you have good content.

Now for the interesting Squidoo part

• Even without a website, you can rank high in the search engines with your Squidoo
• Squidoo allows you to promote products (from your own or affiliate products)

Yes, Squidoo gives you an extra advantage of any other free platform like:

• blogger: it’s free but you have no extra benefit to rank high fast using them. With Squidoo you are immediately on Google’s radar because Google knows Squidoo is all about good content and expertise.
• article directories: they put you as fast on the Google radar as Squidoo but they do not allow you to promote affiliate products

But what if I don’t know any good affiliate product to promote and I am completely new on Squidoo? Well, you need to find an affiliate product that you would buy yourself.

If you don’t like it, then don’t insult your visitors with it.

If you are in the make money online business, there are 2 products I recommend my visitors:

1. Atomic Blogging which teaches from scratch how to make money with a WordPress blog. This is good for complete newbies to bloggers that know about blogging but need extra help in monetizing and attracting more visitors.
2. Squidoo Queen which teaches how you can make money by writing about what you know better than others. So far I need to try out what she wrote in her ebook, but for what I read so far I see that :
1. Kelly is knowledgeable about my field of expertise SEO and Niches and
2. she bypasses my knowledge using her’s and Squidoo’s: the Squidoo picture above just shows how using Squidoo correctly can put you on top of the search engine even when you don’t have a blog.

Why I start promoting Kelly’s Squidoo Queen

Because she target’s :

• people that do want to make money online but have no experience in doing it
• people that know more than others (which really is you: you just need to think out of the box. I can give you an example: your English is most likely better than mine, so there you are already an expert )

How Anyone With No Experience Can Make Money Online Once They Know The Basics

When I first launched Squidoo Queen in response to watching people fail to make money online I NEVER thought that I would go on to grow my members, products or success to the levels that I have in the last year. WOW, only a year ago that it all started - my, how time fly’s!

I first started out with the dream of being an internet marketer over six years ago. The first three of them were spent jumping from program to program, eBook to eBook. I ran around in circles wondering how and when I was going to start seeing some return on my investments.
